Abstract: |
An archaeological watching brief was carried out during the excavation of a foundation trench, which was to form part of an extension to the building. The foundation trench followed the exact alignment and depth of an earlier brick wall and as a result no significant archaeological features were identified within the 0.5m depth of this trench. Some archaeological deposits and features were identified at the base of this trench. However, given the narrowness of the working area and the fact that the extent of these features could not be determined, relatively little could be said regarding their origin and significance within a broader context.
