Abstract: |
Following the uprooting of one of the standing stone components of the Merry Maidens Stone Circle a salvage excavation was undertaken following the re-erection of the aforementioned stone. It was ascertained that the stone was realigned in the 19th century, the NE-SW oriented hole in which it stood being a re-cutting of the original SE-NW oriented setting. [AIP] |
