Abstract: |
A watching brief was carried out during groundworks in the graveyard and south aisle of the church. There is documentary evidence for a Saxon ecclesiastical centre or minster in the area of the church. A layer of reworked soil was observed below topsoil, and this contained occasional human bone fragments and modern material.[AIP] |
