Abstract: |
An archaeological desk-based assessment was undertaken in advance of the proposed development of the site. The early history and archaeology of the study area was well documented and there was evidence of activity in the area from prehistoric times to the modern day, with the most notable period of activity being related to the colliery works adjacent to the proposed development site. In light of the possible presence of archaeology from all periods, some further archaeological evaluation would be required. It was envisaged that this would initially take the form of a geophysical survey. [Au(abr)] |
