Abstract: |
An evaluation in advance of the construction of 18 dwellings at the site. Two trenches within the north-west quadrant showed evidence for ditches possibly associated with the monastic grange located east of the site. Post-medieval farm remains and a brick surface built in the 1940s by prisoners of war were also recorded, as well as a reused stone that was of some antiquity, with a Roman date not being ruled out. Further archaeological work was recommended. [Au(adp)] |
