Abstract:		 An archaeological desk-based assessment was undertaken prior to the determination of a planning application for the construction of an elderly person's home. The study of the available sources showed that the area of proposed development had been open ground during the recent past, with traces of ridge and furrow which suggested cultivation in the medieval period.
