Abstract: |
An archaeological appraisal was carried out at The Malt House which established that the propoerty, also known as Malt House Cottages, was a single building of broadly contemporary construction comprising a central range with west and east cross-wings. It was concluded that the proposed extension to the east cross-wing would have minimal impact on the medieval fabric of the Grade II listed building if the existing frame was left in place and a sympathetic design scheme for attaching the extension was carried out. There was a potential impact on below-ground archaeology which might be mitigated with an archaeological watching brief. [Au] |
