Abstract: |
This monitoring project was designed to record archaeological deposits in a section caused by pipelaying across a Scheduled Ancient Monument. The site is best known from aerial photographs where an extensive complex of ditches, pits and enclosure including a cursus, are visible as cropmarks. Archaeological preservation south of the river was reasonably good and this is probably the case with the surrounding ploughed fields. The density of features recovered confirmed the high archaeological potential of these sites. [Au(abr)] |
