Abstract:
Proposals for development led to the excavation of three trenches and the examination of nine boreholes. Considerable previous work had been undertaken in the vicinity. The borehole evidence revealed a complete series of deposits from the Roman period to the 11th century on the site. The trenches located a number of well preserved 13th and 14th century deposits relating to the waterfront.
