Abstract:		 Monitoring of five trial holes was carried out in preparation for the new sewerage system. At Market Hill a feature of potential archaeological interest was recorded under an accumulation of post-medieval and more recent date. All other locations were heavily truncated by recent services and other intrusions. However, only one of these trial holes revealed undisturbed, natural geological deposits in its base, and there was the potential for archaeology surviving at a greater depth. The construction of water channels and lagoons at Friars Meadow was also monitored and revealed post-medieval tile incorporated into the deposits. [Au]
