Abstract: |
Excavation to the north of the 18th and 19th century lodge at the Park, Moggerhanger, Bedfordshire, has largely supported the recorded and postulated sequence of architectural alterations made to the building by Sir John Soane in the 19th century. Excavation in this instance, however, revealed greater details of the nature, function and form of the successive works and rendered some detail as to the disposition of the lodge prior to Soane's engagement as architect in 1787.
