Abstract: |
A small scale excavation was carried out in response to the construction of student accommodation. Modern overburden overlay a probable agricultural or garden soil. The pottery assemblage suggested deposition in the post-medieval period, though the presence of early and high medieval pottery might indicate that it had developed over a long period. Ten indeterminate features and one linear feature were found. These could not be dated securely but the pottery recovered suggested that they were filled in during or after the early or high medieval periods. [Au(abr)] |
