Abstract: |
A watching brief was carried out during the excavation of foundations for an extension, at a site which lay within the south-western part of a motte and bailey castle. A medieval ditch which may have represented part of the bailey defences was recorded. Artefacts recovered from its fill included five sherds of 12th or 13th century pottery and fragments of animal bone. [Au(adp)] |
