Abstract: |
Four trenches and two test pits were excavated. A pit, probably of medieval date, was found to the east of properties fronting Culvert Street although it may have been associated with a row of medieval burgage plots fronting the south side of Broad Street. This suggested that this part of the study area was used for rubbish disposal in the medieval period. No other features of archaeological interest were identified. [Au] |
