Abstract: |
Limited trial trenching of part of Martlesham Field which was recorded on the county SMR record as a Neolithic and Roman finds scatter revealed some evidence for archaeological deposits surviving below the plough zone. One pit remnant of Iron Age/Early Anglo-Saxon date and an undated ditch were examined in the trial trenches. Very little evidence was noted for stray finds in the machine excavated spoil. [Au] |
