Abstract: |
A watching brief was maintained during groundworks for the construction of a new teaching block. No trace of the Ha-Ha, identified during desk-based assessment, was located, having probably been removed during quarrying on the site in the late 19th century to extract stone for the construction of the original school buildings. A large pit recorded in the south-western quadrant of the site was probably related to quarrying known to have taken place in 1878/1879. [Auths words] |
