Abstract: |
Desk-based assessment of the proposed site of a residential development identified that a small number of sites of archaeological interest had been recorded in the surrounding area. These included findspots of Romano-British, medieval and post-medieval pottery, and a church with Norman origins. It was concluded that the proposal site had a moderate archaeological potential. Although earth moving was known to have occurred in connection with the creation of tennis courts at the site, trial trenching prior to the commencement of construction work was recommended. [AIP] |
