Abstract: |
Reduction of topsoil and the digging of trenches and pits in advance of the building of self-contained extensions revealed a possible 17th or 18th century well and the foundation courses of a cottage documented as being demolished in the 1930's. The watching brief showed that the current churchyard to the east did not extend to the area in an earlier period and that no evidence of Saxon activity, even in residual form, was present.
