Abstract: |
Three trenches were excavated within a yard area to the rear of the property and a test pit was excavated. All the trenches contained deep archaeological deposits, the pottery recovered from the earliest of the stratigraphy revealed was of medieval date. One trench produced evidence of early structures in the form of multi-phase foundations and truncated overlying stone walls on the same alignment as a standing breeze block yard wall which formed part of the a northern boundary wall. In the same trench evidence for domestic or yard floors was revealed. [Au(abr)] |
