Abstract: |
The desktop assessment identified that the site formed the principal surviving portion of what was an extensive, multiperiod complex, most of which had been removed by gravel extraction. Enclosures, ditches, pits and trackways overlying one another were present. An assessment of aerial photographs suggested that the site contained slight evidence for Neolithic activity, possible evidence for Bronze Age activity, and clear Iton Age and Romano-British enclosures. Activity in the post-Roman and Anglo-Saxon periods remained enigmatic, as was characteristic of the region. [Au(abr]) |
