Abstract: |
A watching brief and photographic survey was carried out during development of the site. The lack of archaeological material identified during the archaeological watching brief suggested that little or no earlier (prehistoric, Roman or medieval) activity had occurred in the vicinity of the development site, or at least, was certainly not disturbed by the groundworks carried out during the development work. The photographic survey provided a lasting record of the former Dippenhall House and associated structures. No evidence was revealed to suggest that the earlier cottage structure, which adjoined the main house, was part of a larger earlier house on this site, which was later removed. [Au(adp)] |
