Abstract: |
An assessment was carried out in advance of a proposed development at the site. The study area was thought to have been pasture or gardens until the mid 18th century when the first housing development occurred. Terraced housing with gardens at the rear was present by the 19th century and commercial properties were developed in the 20th century. Destruction caused by enemy action in the Second World War led to site clearance in the 1950s. The vacant land was built on in the 1970s and has remained. [Au(abr)] |
