Abstract: |
A watching brief was maintained during the excavation of foundation trenches on a development plot to the rear of 36 Cross Green. The plot was seen to have been terraced, this terrace having had the effect of leaving the southern half of the site at the level of truncated natural of the drift. A natural sub-soil and deepening topsoil were present across the northern part of the site. Only one feature of archaeological interest was noted. This was a small pit infilled predominantly with stone rubble. The date of this feature was unknown. [Au(abr)] |
