Abstract: |
An archaeological watching brief was carried out during the foundation trench excavations for a new house. Despite close proximity to the site of known medieval earthworks, the excavations revealed the truncated remains of one sub-circular feature which was tentatively interpreted as a well, which yielded six sherds of medieval pottery dating from the 14th century. The site had been heavily terraced prior to the commencement of the works which greatly reduced the archaeological potential of the site. No other archaeological features or deposits were uncovered by the trenching.[Au(abr)] |
