Abstract: |
An archaeological evaluation was carried out in advance of the proposed erection of eight dwellings with ancillary works. Two trenches were excavated. The evaluation established the presence of a medieval ditch or gully on approximately the same alignment as Church Road. A single sherd of medieval pottery and bloomery tap slag were retrieved from the fill of the feature. The evaluation also recorded the remains of a wall, which may have been an earlier field boundary shown on a late 19th century (OS c.1880). [Au(adp)] |
