Abstract: |
A watching brief was maintained during groundworks for the construction of a single-storey restaurant building on a parcel of land on the eaastern side of the Outer Circle Road. A deposit at least 2.7 metres thick containing quantities of limestone pieces, modern brick, pieces of metal and wire, bottles and pockets of ash was recorded. This represented a modern dumped landfill used to backfill elements of the underlying quarry workings. [AIP] |
