Abstract: |
<summary>A watching brief was undertaken during the excavation of three large shafts to give access to the sewers for repair work. Features found in the shafts, including large gritstone slabs and limestone rubble, seemed to represent the foundations of a Roman building set alongside a road, probably the {italon}Via Principalis{italoff}. No dating evidence was forthcoming to suggest what century these remains dated to. {italon}AIP{italoff} {italon}SMR Primary Record Numbers: {italoff}1990.5 (YAT investigation identification no) |
