Abstract: |
An evaluation was carried out at a proposed development site which was considered to have a high archaeological potential. Only six of the twenty-one proposed trial trenches were excavated, due to asbestos removal which was being undertaken on part of the site, and other reasons. Modern features were observed within one trench, but no further features or artefacts of archaeological interest were revealed. It was concluded that no traces of ancient activity remained in the areas investigated, but that an adequate sample of the site had not been excavated. Further work was therefore recommended. [AIP] |
