Abstract: |
An evaluation was carried out within part of an area proposed for a superstore. No finds or features of archaeological interest were revealed, although a small dump of late 19th or early 20th century pottery and rubbish was noted. Much of the area appeared to have been disturbed to varying degrees in the recent past, presumaby in connection with the construction of a swimming pool still present at the site. It was concluded that deposits of archaeological interest were unlikely to exist within the site, and that no further archaeological work would be necessary. [AIP] |
