Abstract: |
A watching brief was carried out during ground clearance and subsequent excavations at a development site which lay within the former precinct of a Dominican friary. A peaty deposit was observed near the bottom of a 3m deep excavation, but safety considerations precluded its closer inspection. It was clear that any near surface archaeological deposits which may have been present had been lost during earlier development of the site. [Au(adp)] |
