Abstract: |
The site was close to the known location of a Roman villa. Previous excavations adjacent to the area have revealed significant Roman remains. These included a second century cremation cemetery and a later building phase. Trenching within the study area has also revealed Roman remains. In addition, there was some potential for previously undiscovered prehistoric and medieval remains. Other than this there was generally a low level of archaeological activity. The evidence suggested that there was a high potential for significant archaeological remains on this site. [Au(abr)] |
