Abstract: |
The study revealed that the study area remained undeveloped until the construction of a brick yard in the mid 18th century. By 1773 the brick yard no longer existed and the study area appeared to have reverted back to land used for pasture/horticultural gardens. Between c.1828 and 1870 residential buildings, gardens and a green occupied the site and from c.1870 to 1950 the study area formed the southern half of the Soap Works. [Au(adp)] |
