Abstract: |
The desk-based assessment identified the site's area as a focus for activity from prehistory to the present day. Flint and pottery scatters indicated sparse activity until the 11th century, when Shinfield was known to have been a settlement. Evidence suggests a focus for this in the church area. There was thought to be a possibility that medieval remains associated with a moated site might be found in the western part of the study area. [Au(abr)] |
