Abstract: |
Monitoring of a residential development area revealed evidence for medieval and 15th-17th century activity in a band across the eastern part of the site. While a previous evaluation of the site had not located the green edge that was anticipated, these monitoring results did appear to have located the green edge. Combining the evaluation and monitoring results was also of interest as this evidence suggested that the green lost its identity by the late 18th century when settlement re-focused on the lanes and roads in the area. Some evidence was also found for a more substantial brick built medieval structure close to the green edge. [Au(abr)] |
