Abstract: |
The archaeological evaluation of the site, undertaken as part of a planning condition, recorded evidence for medieval activity in the form of pottery recovered from a 0.4 metre thick layer of clay which lay directly on the natural subsoil. This layer was interpreted as imported material, possibly constituting a building platform on the edge of the medieval green. [Au] |
