Abstract: |
An evaluation was carried out at a proposed development site which lay adjacent to Kenilworth Castle and the medieval settlement of Castle Green. Medieval features were revealed, including a gully, a ditch, two pits and the remains of a timber building. Medieval pottery and a small number of post-medieval sherds were also found. It was concluded that occupation at the site had probably ceased by the mid-14th century, and that the site had remained open thereafter until the 20th century. [AIP] |
