The abstract describing the content of the publication or report
Abstract:		 An archaeological evaluation was undertaken where it was proposed to refurbish the riverside quay walls. Deep deposits of sand, ballast from boats were found, but beneath this in two trenches were other deposits in which was found medieval pottery, bone and shell. A wooden structure, possibly a temporary quay or coffer-dam was uncovered with associated 19th century pottery. Several blocks of sandstone with evidence of tooling, and the foundations of the derelict Berwick electricity works were also seen. [Au(abr)]
