Abstract: |
The desktop assessment identified that the site formerly formed part of three fields which had probably been pasture since their original enclosure. The study area was formerly part of Red House Farm which dated from at least 1668 and may have had earlier origins. Previous development of the site as a tennis court complex had represented a substantial amount of disturbance which may have destroyed any archaeological remains. However the potential was noted for the survival of archaeological remains within areas not disturbed and appropriate measures for their recording were noted. [AIP] |
