Abstract: |
Archaeological building recording and evaluation was carried out at Kent's Farm. The evaluation, which involved four trial trenches, revealed no evidence of activity before the latter half of the 17th century other than a possible medieval furrow to the north-east of the farm. A rubble layer and a robbed-out wall within a trench immediately east of the farmhouse belonged to the early extension to the farmhouse/dairy demolished between 1843 and 1886. Two limestone walls, which can be associated with late 19th/early 20th century outbuildings, were recorded to the north-east of the farm buildings. [Au(abr)] |
