Abstract: |
A watching brief was undertaken on the construction of driven piles. The top of the pile caps generally contained make-up material for the construction of the late 19th century Oddfellows Hall that formerly stood on the site. An undisturbed garden-type soil was identified in two pile caps. This was probably part of the gardens shown on 19th century maps. A single sherd of residual local pottery, dateable to the 11th or 12th century AD was recovered from it. [Au(adp)] |
