Abstract: |
An archaeological excavation was undertaken in advance of an office development. The excavation revealed agricultural ditches and a possible droveway that principally dated to the Late Bronze Age to Middle Iron Age. An intact Late Bronze Age to Middle Iron Age crouched burial was found. Further ditches and pits of Roman date were found, as well as late medieval, post-medieval and recent features associated with land drainage and the disposal of livestock. The presence of both 'domestic' boundaries and 'ritual' features paralleled other discoveries of late Bronze Age to Early Iron Age landscapes in the region. [Au(abr)] |
