Abstract: |
One hundred and thirty-five trial trenches were targeted on features identified by a geophysical survey, on the proposed development site. Bronze Age features were identified comprising of linear features, possibly used for stock management, an area of Bronze Age occupation, in the form of post holes and pits. A further possible Late Bronze Age settlement was also identified in the south western part of the site, where a series of curvilinear gullies and a ring dicth identified in the geophysical survey were encountered. Roman ditch field systems and enclosures were also identified. [Au(abr)] |
