Abstract: |
The evaluation demonstrated that much of the site has been cleared relatively recently. Structural remains of a building, with at least two construction phases, were recorded in Trench 2. The build was thought to represent a part of the ironworks fronting South Shore Road. Other structural elements recorded during the fieldwork included a brick and sandstone sectioned flue not associated with a particular building, recorded in trenches 3 and 4. The preservation of features in these trenches and in trench 2, suggested that there was good potential for the preservation of archaeology. [Au(abr)] |
