Abstract: |
This evaluation involved the excavation of 33 trenches in advance of a proposed housing development. A ditch of a possible Bronze Age date was identified as well as a post-medieval gully. Due to the presence of a live foul water sewer and trees, it was not possible to ascertain the full extent of the ditch which was not observed in other trenches. Dating of the ditch was tentative, as just a single sherd of prehistoric pottery was recovered, although a few other sherds were present elsewhere on the site. Therefore there was a limited possibility of further archaeological deposits being located within the vicinity of the ditch. [Au(adp)] |
