Abstract: |
Trial trenching ahead of a housing development revealed deep infilling, containing a variety of modern building rubble. Below this lay horizons associated with the (now culverted) course of the Were stream. No archaeological features or finds were present in the material. To the west of the site on slightly rising ground a single linear subsoil feature was present, possibly the former course of a stream. Two chert flakes were recovered from the fill of the feature.
