Abstract: |
A watching brief during preparation and construction phase of refurbishment works of the Abbey Mill, located in close proximity to the Abbey buildings, recorded stonework in the sluice tunnels suggesting the survival of the foundations of an earlier mill beneath the present brick structure. Although no datable material was recovered, it was thought that part of the stonework related to the original Abbey Mill, dating to the 13th century. [Au(adp)] |
