Abstract: |
An archaeological evaluation was undertaken as part of a condition on planning permission for the proposed construction of a side and rear extension to the public house, with additional car parking facilities. The investigation was within the core of the medieval settlement of Bushey, some 50m east of the 13th century church of St James. No regionally or nationally significant archaeological deposits, features, finds or structures were revealed within the area of proposed development. Some evidence of previous levelling of the site was identified. The remains of a 20th century building sited on the street frontage were recorded. [Au(abr)] |
