Abstract: |
Evaluation, in advance of the proposed planting of a tree belt to screen the eastern ring road, on land adjacent to a Late Iron-Age/early Roman site, the Roman town wall, a post-medieval fulling mill known as Old Mills House and a late medieval grist mill known as Langleys, revealed shallow clay-filled Romano-British ditches, a post-medieval cobbled surface and adjacent post-setting, and post-medieval drainage channels.
