Abstract: |
Archaeological observation of the excavation of drainage trenches to the south and west of Compton Verney House recorded a stone-built feature, probably part of a wall and drain belonging to the early 18th century formal garden removed by 'Capability' Brown in 1769-74. No evidence of the medieval village of Compton Murdak was found. [Au] |
