Abstract: |
A non-intrusive archaeological study, consisting of geophysical survey, topographic survey, and an examination of historical sources was undertaken of proposed development land. A number of earthworks were present within the pasture field. These included parts of a medieval - post-medieval ridge and furrow field system, a substantial part of a well preserved major earthwork, possibly a boundary, which was also probably of medieval date together with traces of a possible ditch that may have been associated with the boundary. Lesser earthworks included a number of minor ground undulations. Some of these were likely to have been of fairly recent date, though others may have been of some antiquity. [Au] |
